Nearby is a large variety of visitor attractions, including Fountains Abbey, How Stean Gorge, Ripon Cathedral, Ripley Castle and Stump Cross Caverns.

To the east, we are 1 hour's drive from the city of York, and 2 hours from the famous seaside town of Whitby. To the west, Ambleside in the Lake District is less than 2 hours away. Scarborough, home of the UK’s first professional theatre in the round, where Alan Ayckbourn premieres his new plays, is 2 hours away.
